2010 06 08 Massumi | Parables for Movement notes
Leonardo Review http://www.leonardo.info/reviews/feb2003/PARABLES_Ndalianis.html referring to Delueze the reviewer mentions The Fold: Leibniz and the Baroque. …from which the monad is theorized.
I imagine nodes on a network, nodes, nomads, and monads I like the aesthetic of that triplet. It’s alliterative in its syllables, and recombinant at the same time. The reviewer is a student of film, and sees Massumi as potentially productive for film criticism and film studies. Comparisons and contrasts are drawn to Althusser (interpellation), and to Saussure (semiotics, reduction and (over)simplification of complex organisms and processes)
nomads in movement,
and monads, the singular locations for the soul(?)
